Do you know that phone engineers don't repair a phone that falls in water
You may be wondering how a phone engineer actually succeeds in rescuing your phone that falls into the water, since it does not involve a physical damage or firmware or malware problem, it just got into the water your mind will be a kind of telling you "why spend money on this little stuff ".
Well it depends on how long your phone had been in water, that is the longer it stays the more damage it causes, or the earlier it has been discovered the less effect it will have on the device.

Phone inside water

Supposing  your phone does fall into the water just now or somehow in the future, do not try rescuing your phone by the following way.
      Do not
  • Switch on your phone
  • Try heating any of the phone surface with any source of light
  • Blow in air or keep it close to a air conditioned fan, or freeze the phone
  • Unscrew the phone (that is if it is still under warranty service)
  • Shake or bang the phone in other for the water to force water out of the surface (this will let the water to access unaffected area)
  • Keep it under the sun
Do not Plug it on charger
The right things to do (procedures)
1. Turn it off if, it isn’t already, and do         so quickly.
2. Remove any protective casing and, if    your phone has them, remove your     SIM and microSD cards from their slot's
3. Open up the back and remove the       battery, SIM card(s) and microSD             card ifyou are able to (note that this         won't be possible with all phone models)

4. Use a cloth, sleeve or paper towel to dab your phone dry. Avoid spreading theliquid around, because that could push it into more of the phone's openings. Just soak up as much as possible.
5. If the water damage is more extensive, you can use a vacuum to carefully suck out water stuck from the cracks that are harder to get at. Make sure any small parts, such as the microSD card, SIM card, or battery, are out of the way before attempting this.6. Bury the phone in a ziplock bag full of uncooked rice. Rice is great for absorbing liquid and this is actually a common method for drying smartphones and tablets. You can also buy dedicated phone drying pouches, which are worth having in reserve if you're a clumsy type. Don't wait to get hold of one if you don't already have oneto hand though – get your phone in the rice!, additional facts-- any powdery substance that absorbs water are good idea in drying up a phone e.g (grounded wheat flour, maize floor, cassava flour etc).
7. Let your phone dry for a day or two. Do not be tempted to switch it on, in other confirm if it still works. Put your SIM card in an old phone, or ask a friend or family if they have a spare that you can borrow.
8. After a couple of days, you can remove the phone from the rice back, insert the battery into the phone and switch the phone on.
9. If your phone doesn't turn on, try charging it. If it doesn't charge, the battery may be damaged. You could try a replacement battery, or consider taking your smartphone to a repair shop to be checked by a professional.
10. If your phone has turned on and it is running as it should, you should still keep a close eye on it for the next few days, to see if you notice anything out ofthe ordinary. Play some music to check the speakers and ensure the touch screen still responds as it should.
11. Minimize/ reduce the usage of your phone at the first to second week of the incident, to avoid heating up the phone which might lead to damage of the previously infected areas, or blur screen LCD.

You can also purchase phone dryers from online stores like Jumia, konga the Amazon and many more.

In the future always  keep your phone off the kitchen washing hand basins, or close to a sachet water, purchase waterproof pouches that suits your phone.
